In this course you will study the following subjects:

Important facts about the Pastoral letters

• Author
• Content
• Occasion, purpose and date
• Historical & Religious setting

The Church in general

• Church organisation (1 Tim. 2;1-4:16, Titus 1:5-9)
• Church discipline (1 Tim. 5:1-25)
• Christian behaviour (Titus 2:1-10; 3:1-7)
• Church and various matters (1Tim. 6:1-19, Titus 3:8-14)

Paul's personal concerns for:

• Timothy (1 Tim. 1:1-20, 6:20,21; 2 Tim. 1:1-14, 2:1-26, 3:10-4:18)
• Titus (Titus 1:1-4; 2:11-15)

OBJECTIVE OF THE COURSE

The student will have an overview of the Pastoral letters and a better understanding of the structure and general organisation of a church. He will also be familiar with the personal concerns Paul had for his colleagues.
